Last of the Summer Wine

We are delighted to have obtained the licence to perform ‘THE
LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE’ written by Roy Clarke who also wrote
‘KEEPING UP APPEARANCES’ and ‘OPEN ALL HOURS’. This is a full stage version, written especially with inspiration from episodes of the well-known TV series set in Holmfirth and will be performed at Batley
Town Hall Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 21st -23rd May .

SAYS Presents: FAME Jr.

Excitement is building as Spenborough’s Youth Society (SAYS) prepares to bring the high-energy musical FAME Jr. to the stage! Rehearsals are well underway, with our talented young cast working hard to perfect their performances, ready to dazzle audiences with this iconic show.Set at the renowned High School of Performing Arts in New York City, FAME Jr. follows a group of ambitious students as they navigate the highs and lows of striving for success in the world of music, drama, and dance. With energetic choreography, inspiring characters, and unforgettable songs, this show is packed with passion, perseverance, and plenty of heart.Stay tuned for more updates—this is a production you won’t want to miss!

Autumn 2025

Brassed Off

We are delighted to have obtained the license to perform Brassed Off, the powerful stage adaptation of the beloved 1996 film. Directed by Giles Atkinson, this moving and uplifting production will be performed at Batley Town Hall, featuring live music from the incredible Clifton and Lightcliffe Brass Band.

Set in a Yorkshire mining town in the 1990s, Brassed Off tells the story of a community struggling with the closure of its coal pit. As tensions rise and livelihoods hang in the balance, the local brass band becomes a symbol of hope, resilience, and unity. With a blend of heartfelt drama, humor, and stirring live music, this production promises to be an emotional and unforgettable experience.
